Down Hall Hotel & Spa - Afternoon Tea Experience ****
This weekend you’ll be heading to the countryside for a break from the everyday. Your home for the night will be a 4* manor house that’s steeped in history and has everything and anything you need to make it your own sanctuary of calm for 24 hours. You’ll wander the grounds, dabble in some padel tennis, throw a boule or two and sip on prosecco. It’s a treat, a retreat and it’s only 45 minutes from London. Life away from the hustle and bustle of it all has never looked so good.
What to expect:
🚂 Start your escape from the everyday by using the journey there to open up a book and soak up the feeling of a holiday without a change in time-zone
🏛️ Seek out tiny details that pay homage to the manor’s near 1000 year history as you climb the stairs to your room and drop off your bags
🌳 Channel your favourite period drama by inviting your plus one for a wander around the 110 acres of park and woodland that surround the hotel
🍰 Rest your legs at afternoon tea, where you’ll nibble on sandwiches, scones and sweet treats like raspberry and lime eclairs and white chocolate orange blossom mousse
🍽️ Indulge in a three-course dinner (add-on)
🥂 End the evening with the sparkliest kind of nightcap: prosecco
🍳 Catch up on your beauty sleep before heading downstairs for a full-english breakfast
🎾 End your stay by sweating it out with a method of your choosing: there’s the good old gym or you can try your hand at padel tennis or boules
- Each of the function rooms in your very own castle is named after the people that have lived there over the years. This goes all the way back to the days of Edward the Confessor back in 1042.
- While on your wander of the grounds, you can pay a visit to the Kitchen Garden. Here chef Robert Pearce harvests seasonal fruits, vegetables and herbs to use in the hotel’s menu and carefully crafted botanical cocktails.
It was such a nice disconnection from the city, only an hour away!
The overall experience was pleasant and it was definitely worth going there for a weekend!
